Review: Faye Wong was always loved by her fans and people around her because of her unique charm of her personality and her beautiful voice. Her biggest success is that she still performs on the stage, meanwhile, in recent years, she acted in some good movies such as Wong Kai-wai’s ChunKing Express which helped her won a worldwide reputation. The year 2001, she took part in a Japanese TV series, same time, she was invited to sing the official theme of famous video game Final Fantasy VIII --- Eyes on Me. All these factors became the important elements, which helped her open the Japanese market and accepted by Japanese fans.

From 1st to 2nd November, 2002, Faye held two concerts at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, which made her become the first Chinese artist who held a concert there. Nippon Budokan can hold about 10,000 audiences inside once, and usually a foreign artist who wants to have a concert there must have the ability of 100,000 CD selling. This certifies from another side that Faye Wong is already a world level singer.

This time, Faye brought 21 songs include the opening song -- Separate Ways (from the TV series that she joined) and Eyes on Me (from FF VIII). As usually, Faye showed us some popular old songs and some new songs with new style. In the concert, she specially sang Wishing We Last Forever in remembrance of Teresa Teng. For me, I felt a great pity that most of the songs I like were not in the list. Maybe it was Faye’s choice to show Japanese fans.

Over the concert, Faye changed 4 times clothes, during the breaks; the concert especially showed us 3 short movies on the big screen on the stage. One was Other Side of Faye, which showed us how Faye looks like behind the stage; the second one was Faye’s Happiness is…, which was a short interview with Faye, and she talked about what was her attitude toward happiness; the last part was a presentation of the staff, we can find her ex-husband’s sister was inside.

Even in this concert, we were a bit regrettable Faye didn’t speak a lot because she’s not good in Japanese, but Faye used her amazing singing to make this concert excellent. Also, we were surprised with the dazzling stage: fire, aflutter gauze and narrow waves. With Faye’s voice, audiences were brought into a wonderful world.
